BUF Compagnie is based in Paris, France, with a production entity in Los Angeles, California, and was founded by Pierre Buffin in 1984. The company has been regarded as one of the most innovative visual effects companies in the world for feature films, commercials, music videos and special venue projects. BUF's pre- and postproduction services have been engaged for their unequalled and inventive artistry and technique.

BUF has been aligned with numerous projects that have earned industry nominations for Best Visual Effects and awarded innumerable technical achievement awards, and has produced visual effects for many international top-rated box office successes including 'Arthur and the Invisibles,' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Batman Begins, Alexander, Finding Neverland, and Fight Club.

In i3DPost, BUF will lead the user-related work in the postproduction area (digital cinema and music videos), formulating user requirements and scenarios, testing the integration of tools and plug-ins with its in-house systems, supplying digital face and character models for research, carrying out experimental production and showcase activities.
